YOON — The Future Is Now

Peter Martin in Cinematical:

"Maybe it’s just my limited knowledge of European filmmakers, but their take on science fiction seems to be more influenced by Stanley Kubrick than George Lucas. Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey excited a lot of Americans, of course, but how many dreamy, tripped-out speculations on the future of man came about as a result? Instead, every boy and his toy who saw Star Wars couldn’t wait to make their own version."

Martin then goes on to talk about Yoon, an upcoming Austrian sci-fi-cum-thriller set in a Big Brother-ish society, in which a woman believes she’s being spied on by — possibly — her lover.

Written and directed by Christian Frosch, Yoon stars Brigitte Hobmeier, Martin Wuttke, and Johanna Wokalek.

The film’s official website is here.
