Anna Kendrick, an Academy Award nominee for Jason Reitman's Up in the Air, attends the BAFTA Soho House Grey Goose after party at the Grosvenor House Hotel on February 21 in London. Kendrick has won a few US critics' awards, but the favorite to win in that category is Mo'Nique, who plays an abusive mother in Lee Daniels' Precious. Mo'Nique, in fact, won the Best Supporting BAFTA Award. She wasn't present at the ceremony, so Lee Daniels accepted the award on her behalf. Kendrick and Up in the Air's Vera Farmiga were also in the running, and so was the film's star, George Clooney who lost out to Colin Firth in A Single Man.
