Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak (center) is picture above with filmmaker Julie Taymor and Academy Award nominated actress Patricia Clarkson. Sherak was in New York City at a reception with the Academy's New York-based members at the Academy Theater at Lighthouse International on Monday, January 25.
Julie Taymor was nominated for an Academy Award in the best song category for her and Elliot Goldenthal's composition "Burn It Blue" from Frida (2002), which Taymor also directed. Patricia Clarkson was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for Pieces of April (2003).
