Lee Daniels is a Best Director nominee for the urban drama Precious, starring Gabourey Sidibe, Mo'Nique, Paula Patton, and Mariah Carey. Precious received six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Sidibe), and Best Supporting Actress (Mo'Nique). Daniels was also nominated for the Directors Guild Award, but lost to Kathryn Bigelow for The Hurt Locker. Bigelow is also expected to win tonight's Best Director Oscar.
