Marilyn Chambers

Marilyn Chambers, known for her erotic films of the 1970s, died Sunday at her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Canyon Country. She would have turned 57 on April 22. The cause of death is still unknown; Chambers was found by her daughter.
Born Marilyn Ann Taylor (or Marilyn Ann Briggs) in Westport, Connecticut, in 1952, former Ivory Snow soap-box girl Chambers became an adult-film superstar after appearing in the 1972 production Behind the Green Door, which became a sensation of sorts because the actress was seen having sex with a black man, Johnny Keyes. Jack Wrangler

Jack Wrangler, the blond, handsome 1970s sex star — and a lifelong smoker — has died from complications of lung disease in Manhattan. He was 62.
Wrangler: Anatomy of an Icon, a documentary chronicling Wrangler’s life and career — including his marriage to big-band singer Margaret Whiting — was released last fall. Earlier this week, Wrangler was screened at the London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival.
“Jack Wrangler knew the power of image-making and inspired an entire generation to be comfortable in their own skin and to become the man of their dreams,” said the film’s director, Jeffrey Schwarz.
According to Schwarz, Wrangler wasn’t sure about being the subject of a documentary.

Tony Comstock CineKink Screenings

CineKink will present two documentaries on the private sex lives of celebrities from the adult film industry, the 46-minute Damon and Hunter: Doing It Together (2006) and the 28-minute Marie and Jack: A Hardcore Love Story (2002), both directed by Tony Comstock. The screenings will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater in New York City. Director Comstock will be on hand for a post-screening discussion.

Ed Wood’s NECROMANIA Found

Fans of cult favorite Ed Wood (aka Edward D. Wood, Jr), unjustly labeled The Worst Filmmaker of All Time, now have one more Wood "classic" to check out: the 1971 release Necromania: A Tale of Weird Love!, a sexually explicit film about the erotic awakening of a young couple through the assistance of a coven of witches.
Necromania, Wood’s last film project as a director, was made over a period of two or three days on a budget that totaled about US$7,000. Reportedly, the only prints went missing shortly afterwards, though several copies of the film have surfaced in varying degrees of completeness in the last couple of decades.
