Kathryn Grayson, the soprano-voiced star of Anchors Aweigh, Show Boat, Kiss Me Kate, and several other MGM musicals of the 1940s and early ’50s, died yesterday (Feb. 17) in her sleep at her Los Angeles home. Doris Day, Howard Keel, Calamity Jane Actor Howard Keel, best known for his MGM musicals of the 1950s, died on November 7 in Palm Desert, in Southern California. Keel, who had been suffering from colon cancer, was 85 years old.
