Costume designer Jeffrey Kurland will chair the  Governors Ball, the Academy&#8217;s official Oscar party, on Sunday, March 7. This will be Kurland&#8217;s first year as the  chair of the event. According to the Academy&#8217;s press release, the Oscar-nominated   designer (Woody Allen&#8217;s Bullets over Broadway, 1994) will oversee the decor, menu and entertainment planning for the Ball, and will also &#34;design attire to be worn by the evening’s performers and selected  staff.&#34;
Kurland’s credits include Hannah and Her Sisters,  My Best Friend’s Wedding, Erin Brockovich, Ocean’s Eleven,  Collateral, Law Abiding Citizen and Christopher Nolan&#8217;s upcoming Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
