2006 Swiss Film Award Winners
Michael Steiner’s Swiss-German comedy Mein Name ist Eugen / My Name is Eugen, adapted by Steiner, Christopher Frey, and Michael Sauter from Klaus Schädelin’s 1950s children’s novel, has won the 2006 Swiss Film Award for best narrative film at Switzerland’s Solothurn Film Festival.
Starring Manuel Häberli in the title role, My Name is Eugen follows four teenagers in their quest for adventure and mythical hidden treasures all over the Swiss countryside’s Alpine mountains and lakes.
Carlos Leal was chosen best performer in a leading role for Samir’s Snow White, featuring lots of drugs and rap music but no sneezing dwarves, while veteran Marthe Keller won the award for best performance in a supporting role for Fragile.
