		<description><![CDATA[Art director Lauren Polizzi, whose credits include Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Knocked Up, will be the next guest at the Palm Springs International Film Society&#8217;s &#34;Behind the Scenes Filmmaker&#34; series. Polizzi will be present on July 14 at 7 pm at the Rancho Mirage Public Library (71-100 Hwy. 111).
Polizzi received an Art Director&#8217;s Guild award and Emmy Nomination for her work on season six of The X-Files, an ADG and Oscar nomination for How the Grinch Stole Christmas, an ADG nomination for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and an ADG nomination as Asst. Art Director on Amistad.

PRESS RELEASE:
Nominated for BAFTA&#8217;s and Grammy&#8217;s alike,  screenwriter John August has been garnering attention for the past  decade.  He first received kudos for his multi-perspective indie film, Go, directed in 1998 by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity).  A frequent collaborator with director Tim Burton, August has provided the screenplays for Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride.  In 2007, he directed his first feature-length film, The Nines, based on his own script.  August&#8217;s next projects include Dark Shadows, a stop-motion adaptation of Burton&#8217;s short film, Frankenweenie, and an adaptation of graphic novel Preacher with Sam Mendes attached to direct.  A frequent advisor to the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, August also runs a web site aimed at budding screenwriters.
