Starship Troopers 3: MarauderTibor Szakaly, who took part in a Alternative Film Guide q&a about his and William Fiala’s short film Cubicle the Musicle a while back, was recently interviewed on the Starship Troopers 3: Marauder website. Tibor, whom I see every week at French class in Beverly Hills, worked as "miniature cameraman" on the Starship Troopers 3 action sequences.

Here’s a snippet from Tibor’s ST3 q&a with Paul Taglianetti, in which Tibor discusses the most difficult thing about shooting miniatures:

"The most difficult aspect was seeing dailies on DVD as opposed to film dailies. We could see how the action worked, but we really couldn’t gauge the accuracy of the exposure. Fortunately, they looked fine and we didn’t have to re photograph [sic] anything. [...] The challenge with shooting minatures [sic] is keeping depth of field, having everything in focus. Anything soft in the foreground or background destroys the illusion."
