The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Monday Nights with Oscar screening series will celebrate the life and career of animator John Hubley, considered one of the most innovative and influential designer-directors in the animation field. The Hubley evening will feature rarely seen films, and a conversation with Hubley's daughter and others. The event will be held on Monday, October 10, at 7 p.m. at the Academy Theater at Lighthouse International in New York City.

Pictured above are John Hubley's wife and some-time collaborator Faith Hubley, two-time Best Actress Oscar winner Olivia de Havilland, and Hubley while backstage at the 1967 Academy Awards ceremony. That year, the Hubleys won an Oscar in the Best Short Subject, Cartoons category for A Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass Double Feature.
