MTV Movie Awards: Sandra Bullock-Scarlett Johansson Kiss, New 'Harry Potter' Trailer

June 7 update

Sandra Bullock received an enthusiastic standing ovation at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Bullock accepted the MTV Generation Award from Bradley Cooper, with whom she co-starred in the flop All About Steve; Betty White, who had a supporting role in the hit The Proposal; and Scarlett Johansson, the wife of Bullock's The Proposal co-star Ryan Reynolds.

I don't know whether the crowd's enthusiasm was because she's Sandra Bullock – one of the stars of Speed, Crash, Miss Congeniality, and The Blind Side – or because Bullock, who has the reputation of being an All-Around Great Gal, has recently been the off-screen star of a family melodrama in which she played – or rather, the media portrayed her as – the victim of a selfish, ruthless, cheating, monstrous husband.

Bullock had a few good moments on stage, but the best one was her turning to Scarlett Johansson and saying, “This is so weird, Scarlett. I love you and all, but this is really uncomfortable … Why are you here?"

The girl-on-girl kissing that followed was anticlimactic – much too brief. Bullock did better with Meryl Streep at the Broadcast Film Critics Awards. In fact, someone has remarked that Bullock should have kissed Betty White, instead. I totally agree.

I also think that Bradley Cooper should have planted a big one on Zac Efron's mouth. Have they ever had a guy-on-guy kiss on stage at the MTV Movie Awards? If not, they should.

Betty White, who supported Sandra Bullock in the hit comedy The Proposal; Bradley Cooper, who co-starred with Bullock in the widely panned comedy All About Steve, which earned Bullock a Razzie Award for the year's worst performance by an actress; and Scarlett Johansson, the wife of Ryan Reynolds, Bullock's The Proposal co-star, presented the MTV Generation Award to Bullock.

The actress had been keeping herself far away from the public arena since her widely publicized separation from husband Jesse James right after her Best Actress Oscar win for The Blind Side. True, Bullock did make a surprise appearance at a minor awards show the evening before the MTV Movie Awards, but Sunday was her “official” return to the spotlight.

Betty White, whose ovaries were recently named “historical monuments,” praised Bullock for her performances in various films, including her “daring and race-bending portrayal of Stevie Wonder in The Blind Side.”

Bullock's laughter looked camera ready, but perhaps she was really enjoying herself.

My favorite homage came from Scarlett Johansson: A simple “No,” in answer to Bradley Cooper's question if she wanted to say something in Bullock's honor.

At the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, June 6, a new clip from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will be introduced. Also at the ceremony, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner will present an exclusive clip from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Joining the list of previously announced presenters – among them Zac Efron, Tom Cruise, and Cameron Diaz – are Scarlett Johansson, Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Betty White, Jessica Alba, Michael Cera, Eva Mendes, T.I., and Kieran Culkin.

Eclipse wolf pack member Chaske Spencer will serve as the official MTV International 2010 MTV Movie Awards guest red-carpet correspondent.

Eclipse will hit theaters on June 30. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will open Nov. 19.

Les Grossman makes movie history by telling the young Tom Cruise of Risky Business that “teens love [unclear expletive] ass.” He then rips Cruise's pants so the young actor's round butt will be visible under his tight white underwear.

This MTV promo has several bleeps. I hate those because, for one thing, I find them so useless. For the most part, anyone can tell exactly which expletive has been bleeped. And if we know, why bleep them? It's not like we don't hear the word in our heads, whether we're 5 or 50 or 500 years old.

But this one bleep got me thinking. What does Grossman tell Cruise about teens, love, and male asses? All kinds of naughty things crossed my head. As they say, censorship makes the imagination run wild.

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards will take place next Sunday, June 6, in Universal City. Aziz Ansari will host the ceremony airing at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart MTV Movie Awards 2010

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will be sitting – almost – next to each other at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, to be held on Sunday, June 6, at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City (that's in the San Fernando Valley, just over the hills from Hollywood/Silver Lake).

There's an empty seat (see photo above) between the two The Twilight Saga: New Moon MTV Movie Award nominees, though I'm assuming someone (or some “nobody” as far as the TV cameras are concerned) will be plopped in that seat between Pattinson and Stewart. The two New Moon stars will be joined by Taylor Lautner when they go onstage to introduce a new The Twilight Saga: Eclipse clip.

MTV Generation Award recipient Sandra Bullock will be sitting in the front row. Pattinson and Stewart will be behind her. And you can see Jessica Alba behind them.

The MTV Movie Awards ceremony, hosted by Aziz Ansari, will be aired on MTV beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

As posted on the MTV Movie Awards website, one of Aziz Ansari's ideas to get the show going is the following: “How bout [sic] this time, Tom Hanks whips his balls out? Just onstage, whips it out there. That would be pretty crazy, right? That would get on Twitter!"

Well, maybe.

Voting is open to the public. You can vote here.
