Oscar Predictions: Best Picture, Best Screenplay

Best Picture, The Hurt Locker Also in the running: Avatar, District 9, The Blind Side, A Serious Man, Precious, Inglourious Basterds, An Education, Up, Up in the Air. Having won most guild awards, The Hurt Locker is the favorite to take home the 2010 Academy Award for Best Picture. Even so, the Iraq war drama isn't a lock (no pun intended) in that category. UP Wins Annie Award for Best Animated Feature

Pete Docter's Up was the best picture winner and Docter was the best director at the Annie Awards ceremony held Saturday evening at UCLA's Royce Hall in Los Angeles. The favorite movie did win the top two prizes – but that was it. With three awards each, Coraline and The Princess and the Frog were the evening's top animated feature winners. But at least Up's best picture victory avoided a repeat of last year's outrage following the Kung Fu Panda sweep when WALL-E was the odds-on favorite.
